The best landscapes in North Texas work with our climate, not against it. Clay soils, blazing summers, and the occasional hard freeze punish plants that aren't suited to them — and reward the ones that are.

These are a few we design with constantly: Gulf muhly for its cloud of pink fall plumes, Texas sage for silvery structure and purple blooms after rain, autumn sage (Salvia greggii) for months of color and happy pollinators, blackfoot daisy for a tough, low-growing carpet, and yaupon holly for evergreen structure that anchors a bed year-round.
